All About Merril!

Hello everyone,

My name is Merril Ann Mullendore. I grew up in Pell City, Alabama and that`s the only place I`ve ever called home until I moved to Jacksonville just a few weeks ago. I am 18 years old and I have decided to study engineering in college. For me college is a whole new world. I graduated from Victory Christian High School in Pell City with less than 40 other people and I personally knew every student in my senior class, because aside from maybe five students it was the same class I had grown up with since I started kindergarten there when I was 4. We were all a pretty tight knit group and even though we didn`t like each other and get along all the time we were something like a family. That is one thing I have already begun to miss since graduating. Walking into a college classroom full of brand new faces is a bit of shock for someone like me but I`m sure that every freshmen feels this way to an extent.

While I was in high school I played volleyball, which I loved, basketball, which I only played for one season because I was terrible, and tennis, which is what I feel I was best at and that`s also where I got to know my favorite teacher/coach and now friend Miss Hillary Hathcox who we all called Miss H. I graduated with honors last May and have been looking forward to college ever since.

Even though I played several sports in high school this picture will show just a little piece of what my heart and soul has really been in since I was 9 years old. On the left is my riding trainer who I have been learning from since I was 11, Kristi, in the middle is Kristi`s wonderful boss and the sweetest lady anyone will ever meet, Mrs. Lisa, and that`s me on the right after just winning reserve champion in my age division at one of the largest horse shows in the country. To anyone who doesn`t compete themselves it is impossible to explain exactly what a horse show is so I won`t confuse you by trying. All you need to know is that it is my passion. Sadly, I had to give it up after this past summer to go to college and that beautiful horse in this picture has been put up for sale. I hope that when I get out of college I can take up riding again but I`ll just have to see what life has in store for me before I can be certain of that.

If you want to friend me or learn more about me you can go to my facebook page. I guess that`s all you need to know about me and my life up to now. After posting this first blog I`m really looking forward to blogging again.
